How to Prepare for Your Newborn Photography Session in South Florida
Welcoming a baby is one of life’s greatest moments—and capturing those early days with a newborn photography session is something you'll treasure forever. At Jennifer Ubinas Photography, we offer a calm, cozy, and luxury studio experience for families throughout Broward County, Parkland, Boca Raton, Coral Springs, and surrounding cities.
Here’s everything you need to know to prepare for your baby’s session and ensure stunning results.

1. Book Your Session During Pregnancy
The best time to photograph your newborn is between 5–14 days after birth, when babies are extra sleepy and still curl easily into those sweet poses.
We recommend booking your session during your second or early third trimester, especially if you're in high-demand areas like Delray Beach, Coral Springs, or Fort Lauderdale. This ensures availability and time for planning.

2. Keep Baby Awake Before the Session
To help your baby sleep soundly during the session, we recommend:
Giving a warm bath at home
Keeping baby awake for 1–2 hours before arrival
Feeding baby right before or upon arriving at the studio
A sleepy baby = more dreamy poses!
3. Dress Baby in Loose, Easy-to-Remove Clothing
Avoid tight socks or onesies that can leave marks on baby's skin. Instead, dress your little one in something soft and loose so we can easily transition into wraps or outfits without disturbing them.
4. What to Bring to the Studio
Our South Florida studio is fully stocked with:
Professional lighting and props
Organic wraps, bonnets, and headbands
Neutral and timeless backdrops
White noise and baby-soothing essentials
You only need to bring:
A pacifier (even if baby doesn’t usually use one)
Extra bottles or be prepared to nurse
A change of clothes for you (accidents happen!)
5. Family Photos? Absolutely.
We encourage parents and siblings to join in! Stick to soft neutral tones like white, cream, beige, or gray for a clean, cohesive look that won’t date over time.
Pro tip: avoid logos or bold prints so the focus stays on baby.
6. Trust the Process
Jennifer has years of experience safely posing newborns and creating a peaceful environment where both baby and parents can relax. Sessions typically last 2–3 hours to allow for feedings, diaper changes, and plenty of soothing time.
You don’t need to stress—we’ve got you!
